The preparation towards “3.16” 50th Anniversary is in full swing NOW! Youths gathering at different Soka centres, on different nights, put their hearts, heads (in thinking) to make this event a most memorable one for SSA youths and to extend our warmest, heartiest, happiest all the “…iest” you can name to welcome our overseas delegates!
Oh! I spotted a group of people at the Telok Blangah Soka Centre (TBSC). Hm…let’s go over to KP a bit and find out what’s up…

Rolling the towel?… Wow, who has sweet tooth…

Why are they measuring the hands? So many packet of tissue papers?
Yami… tibits!
Jiang, Jiang!! So this is how it looks at the end! 原来如此!
Let me chat with the IC Tan Chin Hee from RHQ3 and Hui Ting from RHQ5 to hear from them…
Who came out with the ideas for the souvenirs?
Chin Hee: All the ICs brainstorm together prior to today’s souvenir making session. We wanted to provide souvenirs that can touch the overseas youth, making them feel our warmth and sincerity and enabling them to remember every moment of their stay in S’pore. Hence, we have souvenirs for them everyday during their stay.
Manage to take a side view of Chin Hee, hee hee hee…
Can you disclose what kind of souvenirs?(Chin Hee hesitated… I guess they would like to keep it as a surprise. So now that all of you know, shi… keep it to ourselves will do, ok?)
Chin Hee: A…we have different gift pack every day, a bag for them to collect all the gifts they receive, Sensei guidances every day, name tags, small souvenirs and potpourri etc in their cupboards too!
(let me chat with Hui Ting now)
How do you feel about this Overseas Youth Exchange?
Hui Ting: I’m very excited and I feel it’s a very meaningful event whereby we are able to learn from other overseas youth about their country’s kosen-rufu activities. We seldom have such program.
Will you be inviting your friends to attend the seminar?
Hui Ting: Yes, I normally invite my classmates, they are very curious about my practice and asked lots of questions. Even though usually at the very last moment, they have something on and can’t make it but I will continue to try and invite them again.
Throughout the whole souvenir making session, I see numerous youths teaching and helping each other. New friendship evolved, new comradeship forged, it is only with everyone’s “together in mind and action” effort that the souvenirs can be all done within a day successfully. Hurray!! R3 and R5!!
